SubjectUrgent: please help stop the deportation of Ghazaleh from Denmark to Iran
Dear {MP},
I am writing as your constituent to ask for your urgent help for a woman called Ghazaleh, who is about to be sent from Denmark to Iran.
The Danish authorities have rejected Ghazaleh's asylum case and told her she must leave for Iran by 21 October 2026. The people close to her fear that if she is returned she will be arrested, abused and possibly executed.
That fear is well founded. Iran executed at least 1,639 people in 2025, including at least 48 women, the highest numbers in decades. In September 2026 the UN Fact-Finding Mission on Iran found that the crackdown on protests in January 2026 involved crimes against humanity. In 2024 the same Mission found that women in detention had been raped and sexually abused.
Denmark itself paused removals to Iran in January 2026 because of the situation there, but lifted that pause for people already refused in August.
Please would you:
1. Write urgently to the Danish Ambassador in London (Royal Danish Embassy, 55 Sloane Street, London SW1X 9SR; lonamb@um.dk) asking Denmark not to return Ghazaleh to Iran, and to restore its pause on returns to Iran.
2. Raise her case with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and ask ministers to raise the danger facing women returned to Iran with their Danish counterparts.
3. Let me know what response you receive.
Her deadline is days away, so anything you can do this week could save her life. More information is at https://saveghazaleh.info/
Yours sincerely,
